Activision has signed up Transformers film stars Shial LaBeouf and Megan Fox to reprise their roles in the game.
They'll be giving it the dramatics alongside the original television voices of Optimus Prime and Megatron, Peter Cullen and Frank Webber.
The game will be based on the upcoming film from Dreamworks and Paramount, and will enjoy a storyline created by the writer of the animated series Flint Dille.
"Transformers is an incredible franchise with huge global appeal, and our goal is to present a game that speaks to fans of the upcoming movie as well as to G1 fans," said Laird Malamed, head of production at Activision. "We have a fantastic line-up that includes original talent from the animated TV series and the upcoming film, bringing together the best of both worlds."
The console versions of Transformers are in development at Traveller's Tales, the brain behind LEGO Star Wars. Vicarious Visions is dealing with the DS outing and Savage Entertainment is handling the PSP.
No release date has been set, but we expect it not to be too far away from the 27th July film release.

Fantastic Four Debut Expected to Further Add to Strong Summer Movie Season
NEW YORK (AP) -- News Corp.'s film studio is expected to rake in big audiences with its debut of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" Friday, continuing a strong summer run for theaters.
Soleil Securities Group analyst Marla S. Backer, in a client note, said theater operator Carmike Cinemas Inc. is optimistic that the superhero sequel, along with other titles, will draw big crowds.
The film, which is based on Marvel Entertainment Inc.'s comic book series, stars a team of superheroes.
BMO Capital Markets analyst Jeffrey Logsdon said the Fox film is likely to gross $35 million to $40 million its debut weekend, while Time Warner Inc.'s film studio will likely generate between $15 million and $20 million with its teen detective movie "Nancy Drew."
Overall weekend movie audiences will probably be smaller than last year, the analyst predicts, because the year-ago period included strong titles.
Citigroup analyst Tony Wible, in a client note, said a strong start for the summer box office, which was boosted early on by the third films in three popular trilogies, is likely to keep its momentum. These films are "Shrek the Third," "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," and "Spider-Man 3."
In fact, the analyst said the large number of strong upcoming releases bodes well for rentals later this year.
"All in all, we see the summer shaping up to be an extremely strong season that could be so jam-packed with competing title debuts that growth is likely to be artificially suppressed as moviegoers will likely find it especially difficult, if not nearly impossible, to cycle through all the popular releases while they are showing on the big screen," wrote Wible. "As a result, we forecast a rental 'spillover' effect that will carry through to the fall and winter, whereby a la carte in-store movie rentals are likely to increase during 3Q and 4Q."
